About
Kim Webster, Ed. M., is the founder of Own It. She sees incredible potential for positive impact on the world by well-supported, mission-driven leaders. Her approach to leadership development is practice-based, rooted in 20 years of experience in non-profit management and school leadership.
Kim held several leadership positions over 10 years at Playworks, a national non-profit organization focused on advancing social and emotional learning through play. She has also worked at schools in New York City, San Francisco and Boston, managing enrichment programming at Washington Irving High School and holding school administrator roles at both San Francisco Flex Academy and Phoenix Charter Academy. She has a Master's of Education in School Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Boston University.
Kim specializes in coaching emerging leaders - an influential and often under-supported cohort. She supports them with real-time coaching on team management challenges, teaches new management tools, and leads them in strategic reflection as they navigate the complexity of being a supervisor. She helps her clients grow into more confident and intentional leaders.
As a consultant and facilitator, she draws from a rich combination of youth development and education principles, leadership practice & adult learning theory. She loves to craft interactive, engaging team experiences that maximize culture-building, learning and impact.
